When our
class went to Yosemite there were many occasions in which we needed to
use teamwork. In our hiking groups, we did some activities to build
teamwork with each other. One activity we did was a "hot lava" game. In
this game, we where given eleven pieces of cardboard to use as stepping
stones so that we wouldn't touch the hot lava underneath us. The object
of the game to get all the eleven people from the hiking group from one
side of the lava to the other. This game required lots of teamwork
because we had to make a plan on how to complete the task. Although we
had to try many different ways of approaching it, we finally got to the
other side in the end. One memory I have doing this was, I remember
that
at one point our naturalist started to pick up stepping stones that
weren't being used so there weren't for everyone to have their
own. So a couple of people in our group carried the person standing
next to them. It was so funny to see, and we had a really fun time
doing the activity and working together.
