Mother
Bear![]() |
While I was in
Yosemite with my class I had a lot of great memories. I also have
a favorite memory. This memory was seeing a black bear with my
hiking group. The bear was across the river about 100-200 feet
away. After watching the bear for about 5 minutes, it made a loud
grunt. Out of the woods came a cub running to its mother.
We observed the bear while it walked through the woods. Our
naturalist, Laura, made sure we didn't get too close because it could
get aggressive and attack us at any time. My friend and I
had to tell people that were not aware that there was a bear about 30
feet away from and to be careful. Seeing a bear was an extremely
awesome experience in Yosemite. When I saw a bear in Yosemite it was an amazing sight but also scary at the same time. It was a cool sight because I was able to see a bear in the wild. This is something that most people aren't lucky enough to see when they come to Yosemite. Another reason why it was a great sight is because I got to see a cub. Cubs are rare sight because the mother are usually very protective. Seeing the mother bear and cub was awe striking but also nerve-racking. It was scary when it was only about 50 feet away because if it got worried it could charge if it got worried. I really enjoyed my sight but was on edge at the same time. |
