My Favorite Memory
My favorite memory was going to Vernal Falls.  When I woke up that morning, I saw fog going through camp.  I thought it was going to be a dreary, boring day until two things happened.  We found out we were going to be going on a hike that would last the whole day.  We packed our backpacks with food and were on our way.  Our naturalist liked our hiking group a lot, but one person stood out to her.  Whenever our naturalist would ask a question, he would raise his hand.  We started to go on the hike and we got tired and bored.  He came up with a great idea which was to ask people where they were from.  The first person we saw were two older people.  He asked where they were from which they were from Detroit.  I told them that I was a Raiders fan and we teased him about them losing to the Lions who are horrible.  The next people we saw were from Germany.  I was surprised to see  how well they spoke English.   My friend was trying to talk with German accent and asked where they were from.  The said that they were from Berlin.  We finally made it up to Vernal Falls and had lunch fairly close to the falls.
The one problem was that there were squirrels left and right.  It looked like they were planning some kind of attack to get our food.  Most squirrels in our area will run away if you scare them, but not Yosemite squirrels.  They would do anything to get your food.  So, we started eating and saw them all around us.  He came up with the idea of throwing sticks at them.  I was surprised, but it worked the best out of all of our ideas.  It was hilarious watching him throw sticks wildly at the the little squirrels.  If one was coming towards him he would scream and throw a stick at it.  Then we headed back down the mountain and saw a small rock slide.  We got back and told everyone how funny our day was and how exciting it was.  These events were my favorite memories of our trip to Yosemite.
